Cutest Add-On Ever

We should preserve every scrap of biodiversity as priceless while we learn to use it and come to understand what it means to humanity. - E. O. Wilson

Red foxes are widely distributed in the Arctic Circle, North Africa, North America and Eurasia. Their habitat includes forests, grasslands, mountains, deserts, farms and suburban areas. Here are some interesting facts about red foxes:

  • They can run up to 31 mph, jump over 6 ft high fences and swim.
  • Their tail is over half its body length and it aids its balance.
  • Red foxes grin when afraid.
  • The forepaws have five toes while their hind feet only have four.
  • Males are called dog foxes, females vixens and young foxes are called cubs, pups or kits.
  • A fox has excellent hearing and sense of smell which help in locating prey.
  • Mostly, red foxes choose one mate to be with for their whole life.
  • They don’t make good pets and are meant to live in the wild.
Here are pictures of an adorable kit which I came across recently.
